My name is Alex Tomesek, the sole proprietor of TAR Media & PC Solutions. I am still a part-time student at Owens Community College as I like to learn. Even with all the resources on the internet, going to school makes learning easier and more focused. Learning on the internet you will find yourself scrolling through API's one day and then reading about engineering the next. I’ve spent much of my life learning about computers and the possibilities are endless! The knowledge, the resources, grow every minute!
Even though it was almost 20 years ago, I still remember my first time taking apart a computer and putting it back together when I joined the computer club in my first year at Bedford Jr. High School. Aside from that, it gave students like me an opportunity to start learning animation and ActionScript in Macromedia Flash as well as making sprites and scripting in RPG Maker. By the end of my first year, I even learned about modifying OS and firmware in computers and handheld electronics at only 12 years old!
All through Jr. and Senior High School I focused on taking more courses that pushed me to learn more art, design, and programming skills on top of excelling in Math courses. I started with Auto CAD, Architecture, and drawing courses. Then at the start of High School started Photography and Graphic Design. After obtaining good design sense and learning programs like Photoshop, I started relearning Web Design and how to use Visual Studios and Dreamweaver to make websites and to code Java and C++.
At the beginning of Senior year, 3 other students and I formed a team to compete in Business Professionals of America for Web Design. We placed in the top 3 winning us an award for creating a tourist website for Chicago Illinois that featured an interactive map and the top 10 tourist destinations in the area.
After High School, I continued my studies at Monroe County Community College where I took more classes in Business, Web Design, Java, Databases, and C++ and started to teach myself 3D modeling using Blender and 3DS Max. After some unfortunate events I was forced to drop out, but I continued to practice the skills I learned and started a business selling used electronics, games, and fixing computers.
Amid going to school and running my business, I started a 3D development project after being introduced to another programmer and 3D Artist through some associates who made music. We began storytelling and writing scripts, making music, and designing models for a game we were going to make based in Egypt called Scarab. Unfortunately, the project was put on hiatus and was never completed. However, I did expand my business and started making logos, business cards, and websites for some of my customers.
At the turn of 2020 I moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming and began 3D modeling again. I started up a project called Mana Dream and begun my journey learning ZBrush and Unreal Engine. Currently, it is still under development while I am working on my shipping and warehouse management system using a bin packing algorithm I developed.
